Maine Parents was founded by Jackie Matthews LCPC-C and Christy A. Cole LCPC.

Jackie was born in Biddeford and grew up in a small fishing town on the east side of Casco Bay. She completed a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in English (both summa cum laude) in 2010 from the University of Maine. She returned to the University of Maine to complete an M.A. in Communication (focused on informal science education). In raising her own children, Jackie’s passions for neuroscience, communication, education and children converged. She returned to graduate school to complete her M.A. in Counseling through Northwestern University. Jackie is a clinician providing parenting education and psychotherapy to adults and children at Wayfinder Wellness and Psychotherapy Services in Kennebunk, Maine. She is also the founding editor of Puffling Press LLC (a small publishing company in Maine). Jackie is a writer, artist, mother, farmer and wife— among other things. She loves helping other people find authenticity, passion, and peace.
